Events at The Abbey Church
Each year the Abbey Church, Abbey Multi-Faith and Cultural Dialogue Centre and the Abbey Community host a series of educational, inspirational and social events to which all are welcome.
The Abbey Inspiration Morning
On the second Wednesday of each month (except July, December and January) the Abbey Community hosts the Abbey Inspiration Morning. Held in the Abbey Church at 9.30 am, the morning provides an opportunity to discuss spiritual concepts, share insights and support each other on their inner spiritual journey.
The 2026 Abbey Inspiration Morning theme is Notes of our Soul Song and will use the sounds of nature and music as inspirations to guide discussions and spiritual practices. Each month’s topic is listed in our monthly program.
We invite you to join us each month as we explore the path of spiritual growth. Please bring something to share for a Morning Tea that follows.

Community and Social Events
Each month after the morning Holy Communion Service the church congregation are invited to a barbeque luncheon. This is a wonderful opportunity to share good food and conversation. A small donation towards costs is requested.
On the Sunday prior to Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent we host a pancake morning tea after morning service. Other special morning teas are held on Mother’s Day and the first Sunday in September to celebrate the coming of Spring.
A supper is held after the Christmas Carol and New Years Eve Service. Please see dates and times below.
Multi-Faith Events
The Abbey Multi-Faith and Cultural Dialogue Centre annually hosts a program including symposiums, forums and gatherings designed to increase awareness, understanding and respect between people of different faith traditions and cultural backgrounds.

Working With Our Neighbours
Assembling Birthing Kits
An annual event in collaboration with volunteers from multi-faith groups and many local associations, including Zonta and Bribie Pink Dragons, to assemble birthing kits for women in remote regions of the developing world who often give birth at home in unsanitary conditions.
World Day of Prayer
World Day of Prayer is an international ecumenical gathering hosted annually by a different church within the Moreton Bay Region. The Abbey Church hosted this event in 2024. Each year the World Day of Prayer focuses on a specific country. In 2027 this will be Friday 5th March.
