The church is set in delightful surrounds with gardens making it a haven of beauty and peace, providing many opportunities for photos to remember a special day.
Weddings at the Abbey Church, Caboolture are celebrated on selected Saturdays. The service takes about 30 minutes including time for the signing of official legal documents. They are officiated by Fr George, Fr Paul or Fr Thomas, members of the clergy who are also registered as marriage celebrants.

To book a small chapel wedding at the Abbey Church please contact the Church on 1300 172 333 or send an email to enquiries@abbeychurch.com.au. A prior in-person appointment is needed to discuss all wedding arrangements and to complete the legally required statutory documents.

History of Weddings at the Abbey Church, Caboolture
Over the last 60 years the Abbey Church has witnessed many thousands of weddings, christenings and funerals.
The very first wedding held in the church was that of David and Elaine Coggins on the 17th January, 1970, on a scorching hot Queensland Summer day. According to the bride, Elaine, as it was the first wedding that Fr Francis had officiated, he was certainly more nervous than she was. This was the first of many weddings to come as Fr Francis delighted in organizing the whole ‘wedding experience’ for the bride and groom. A wedding cake, photographer, videographer and horse and cart, if needed, were all part of the package offered, as well as officiating and giving the happy couple a memorable day. Abbey Community members, Br Charles, Sr Anne and Sr Hilda produced wedding invitations and stationery in the then Abbey’s printery.
In those days, the Church choir added to these special occasions by singing O Perfect Love, The 23rd Psalm (the Lord is my Shepherd) and Morning has Broken while the church organist, Sr Ursula, played the Wedding March to welcome the bride to the church.
Weddings were frequently followed by a reception held in the Abbey Hall and mainly catered for by volunteers from the Church congregation. Fr Francis often joined the wedding band on stage to entertain with his trumpet which he loved to play.
There was one memorable Saturday that Fr Francis in his exuberance booked in two receptions. He only did that once!! Although the Abbey Church no longer offers catering for receptions, there are a number of suitable local venues within 20 minutes of the church.
